Can We touch Anything????

Though a strange thought, it is worth thinking about. The concept of touching. The dictionary definition is: to come close to an object as to be or come in contact with it. Are we coming in contact with it or is there something in between? Aren't there tiny molecules seperating us from it?If we come in contact, wouldn't we physically connect with that object? The dictionary definition simply states "an object". Does that mean that we are not able to touch humans? Or Air? What are your thoughts?

  1. I heard about this before...scientists say that we are never really touching something, because if we did, we would be attached to that object forever. I haven't done research into this, but I know it to be true...you can research it and find the exact definition

  2. I think touching can happen with certain things. For example if an animals claw were to cut a person in a way that left a mark wouldn't the claw have to come in contact in order to make that mark. If it didn't how was that mark made?

  3. Good point. If we can never really touch something, then maybe there is something we are touching instead of the skin, like the air or something, that makes the mark. That's a good question though. I have no clue how that mark is made if we are not touching anything.
