In our own defense
What can we justify doing in the name of defense? We have created thousands of weapons to defend ourselves in case of weapons that our enemies MIGHT create. In doing this we bring new weapons into the world that might never have come into being. We also force our enemies to create more weapons to defend themselves, but then we have to defend ourselves again. So where does it stop?

I honestly don't know, but that's a very interesting question.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a vicious circle to me. I honestly think there won't be a way to stop unless someone brings it up in something of an international meeting of some sort, but even then I don't believe that all the nations would completely trust each other. After all, there's wars going on everywhere anyway. It's really a sad situation.
ReplyDelete@Declan: Let me clarify...I meant the little gold disc thing that is attached to voyager that has 70's music and stuff. Supposedly if Voyager, by chance, collides with another planet with life, will have this disc that the life forms can take and look at. Or something of the sort.
ReplyDeleteYou say that the Voyage had a disk with 70's music on it. Coming to reality now, we can see that A; how would they know this disk has any purpose, if they do then B; how would they know what its purpose is, and finally C; how would they play it, as if they had a record machine conveniently waiting on their planet! There is only a glimmer of hope in the trillions of stars that can be found.
